Makhkam Azamovich Makhmudov

Head of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Tajikistan

Was born 17^th of July 1957. In 1979 graduated from Law faculty of the Tajik State University.

From 1979 served as assistant (scientific associate) of civil law department. From 1983 to 1986 become postgraduate student of the Tajik State University and from 1987 to 1993 use to be an assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor and professor of the civil law department of the law faculty. From 1993 to 2006 served as dean of law faculty of the Tajik State National University. From 2006 to 2009 served as deputy and later first deputy of the Executive Office of the President of Tajikistan.

From 2002 till 18^th of May, 2009 used to be member of Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli (upper chamber of Parliament) Republic of Tajikistan, and from 2005 served as Head of Committee ensuring Constitutional basis, rights and freedom of human, citizen and legality of upper chamber of the Parliament of the Republic of Tajikistan.

PhD in law science, professor, academician of the Academy of science of the Republic of Tajikistan. Author more than 200 scientific and popular-science papers.

At 18^th of May, 2009 has been elected Head of Constitutional Court of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Honored lawyer of the Republic of Tajikistan, awarded with “Ismoili Somini – 2^nd grade” and “Commonwealth” orders. Married, has 3 children.
