Nikolay Samoylov
Nikolay Samoylov is a Professor of the Faculty of Asian and African Studies, Head of the Department of Theory of Asian and African Social Development, and Director of the Center for Chinese Studies at St. Petersburg State University. He works mainly on the history of East Asian countries and the history of Sino-Russian relations.
He has published about 200 articles and books.
Visiting researcher at Beijing University (1984-1985, 1991-1992), Seikei University (Japan, 1993), Princeton University (1995). Tuebingen University (1997), University of Turku (Finland) (1999, 2000, 2008), Free University of Berlin (2005, 2009, 2011, 2013), University of Helsinki (2010, 2012-2019), Stockholm University (2011, 2014), Heidelberg University (2011, 2014-2019), Catholic University of Leuven (2013), University of Trier (2015), Harbin Institute of Technology (2016), Queen's University Belfast (2018).
